Once you arrive in South Korea, you will not be able to sign up for a cell phon because your ARC card has not been issued. The phone that KorVia is providing is a prepaid cell phone and you can only use it for 30~60 days upon your arrival and you must submit a copy of ARC card to telecome company for extension of service (free of charge) or sign up for a plan for 1 year. Signing 1 year contract is not medatory thus you can keep your prepaid service but you may need to charge your credit into your prepaid cell phone.

KorVia suggest you to decide appropriate cell phone service at your convenience and usually most of native english teacher will sign up for 1 year contract because you can have brand new cell phone
